Imagination Movers

Warning...The following post will only make sense if you are a true "Gearhead." (aka avid fan of the Imagination Movers :)

Today we took Taylor to see the Imagination Movers in concert. They played at the Alabama Theater.  Let me tell you that this place was jumping and at one point I thought the poor old theater balcony might fall in with all that movement!

Taylor and his buddy Parrish had a great time.  It's amazing at how many of the parents were really into this group too.  I admit it was the most rocking concert I've been to in about 10 years!  Some guy behind us kept yelling "Free Bird!"  The Movers put a few things into the show that you know were for us grown ups too.  Like the moment inspired by the crane kick from "Karate Kid".

They did a great job putting in almost all of their songs along with an "Idea Emergency".  The only problem we had in the balcony was the drums drowned out the words.  I think they just had an acoustic problem in that old room.  I for a moment thought that it might have been worth paying the extra $10 per ticket to be on the bottom level, but Taylor and Parrish didn't notice.  The only time they wanted to be down there was when a bunch of balloons were let down and they didn't get one.  We did find one leftover after the show when we took them to the stage for photos.  That balloon saved me $20 because Taylor wanted that more than a t-shirt. :)  Love this age!

After the show they had a meet and greet with the band.  The line was wrapped around the block so we went for some lunch and came back.  :)  We were the next to last in line and only waited about 30 minutes.  (most everyone else had to wait close to 1.5 hours if they stayed in line the whole time)  

Taylor went right on up to the Movers and got them to autograph his CD insert.  Parrish got a little nervous so Kristen joined him in the picture.  Mover Smitty however gave Parrish a guitar pick from his pocket!  Rock on!  Taylor got to stand by Scott, but neither one of them had on their "Wobble Goggles" for the picture.  Taylor uses an old pair of my sunglasses.  He had them attached to his shirt at the concert.

Parrish asked Mover Rich where Uncle Knit Knots was.  Mover Rich said that it was much to much excitement for Knit Knots.  Mover Dave said that Taylor's motorcycle shirt was very cool.  (Thanks Missaha. ;)  They were very nice and still very willing to talk to the kids and thank us for standing in line so long (wink wink) after they had been there over an hour.  They still had another show to do too!  

Over all I think they did a great job and we still LOVE the Imagination Movers.  They told us at the concert the Disney Channel picked them up for a second season!  Yeah!
