Dots and more

Lilly still has spots and dots appearing all over her. She is so itchy. She rubs her little head like crazy on us when we pick her up. She has now picked up a silky blanket and taken to rubbing it on her too. She may turn out to be a blanket baby like Taylor after this.

I got the cutest gift for Lilly the other day in the mail from Teale.  She is so crafty.  She made Lilly a taggy blanket (just in time for her to rub on) and a burp cloth.  They match her pink and brown stuff perfectly.  These are the main colors of anything made or given specifically for Lilly.  I have thought about painting her room these colors, but then her bedding would have to change and I just don't have the energy for all of that right now.

After I got the cute stuff from Teale I remembered something my mom had gotten out for me.  It was some of my old baby clothes and Teale's mom Beth made this shirt for me 31 years ago.  At least that is what my mom told me, but I'm sure this is definitely something I would have gotten from her.  Craftiness runs in that family.  The shirt says Amanda loves, Mama, Daddy, Big Mama, Mawmaw and Syrupy.  That's the names of my parents and living grandparents at the time.  Isn't that sweet.  I treasure these gifts.   Thanks Teale and Beth!
So now if you are wondering why my grandfather's name was Syrupy...it was his nickname from the 1920's when he hauled sorghum syrup on Sand Mountain.  It apparently stuck his whole life even when he was selling TV's.  We called him Grandaddy Syrupy.  He died just before I turned 3 so I don't remember much about him.

ps-Tried the Aveeno oatmeal bath last night.  Lilly melted into that water and almost went to sleep.  She sat in it for about 15 minutes and was so peaceful looking.  Thanks Teresa and Ashley for the advice.

Hope she gets to feeling better soon! That shirt mom made is too funny... guess that's how they did "monogramming" back in the day! :)
