Seeing Spots

Chicken spots to be exact.  (That's what Taylor is calling them)

Lilly has the chicken pox.  How does a 4.5 month old get chicken pox in a day when no one gets them because of a vaccine?  Well we have our suspicions.  Also you don't get the vaccine until you are 12 months so she was open to getting them if around the right person.

It all started sometime over the weekend.  I noticed about 3 spots in her hair.  She's had very dry skin this winter so I thought it was just dry skin spots.  On Monday I noticed some spots in her diaper area.  I thought that might be some kind of yeast infection.  On Tuesday she had one on her tummy and one on her arm.  I decided then to take her to the doctor.  If I had just waited until Wednesday there wouldn't have been a question about what she had.  We woke up to a very dotty daughter.

So far she isn't complaining too much.  This morning she had new ones and I can tell she's more uncomfortable.  She has the most on her head, next her bottom is bad and then her middle is getting worse.  Her arms and legs have only a handful of spots total.

I totally feel sorry for her since I remember having chicken pox.  They are no fun!  Well Lilly has decided to have all kinds of "firsts".  She hasn't even rolled over good yet and already had heart surgery and now chicken pox.  Go figure.

This is Lilly's head today.  (Thursday)
She's still has happy as can be today.  What a trooper!

Have Wes get some Aveeno Oatmeal bath and give her a good warm soak, it will help with the discomfort. Wow! I purposely exposed all three of my children when they were young to the Chicken Pox so that we would get that out of the way--they never contracted it! Gene never had any childhood diseases, so i thing they got his immunity. I had them all (chicken pox at 13)and I remember how uncomfortable they were. My sister and I had them the worse...scalp, mouth, even between our fingers and toes! Hope she feels better soon and that if taylor gets it, it will be only a light case. I'll be praying girl!

Bless her! I hope she doesn't get too uncomfortable, maybe since she is little it won't be too bad!

And since I now have Parker at my house for the weekend, I could keep all three of them and give you some much needed time off but alas, CHICKEN POX! Found out Jay's daddy never had them so can't take any chances there.
