Grandparents

With Wes away in China we have spent the week with grandparents. We started at my parents and now we are at Wes' mom's house. I started to notice some things around my parents house that reminded me of going to my grandmother's house. I decided to post them even though only a handful of people would understand these memories.

Things that remind me of Mawmaw's house found this week...

1. Night lights. I think my parents have a night light in every room now. Mawmaw always had one in the bathroom. I think hers are now in my parents house. (Taylor calls these night night lights.)

2. Little People. That was about the only toy we had to play with at Mawmaw's house. Now all those Little People and more are at Granny's house and Taylor had a whole city set up in the playroom. These by the way are the ones from 30 years ago that are probably made with lead paint. oh well we're still alive.

3. Sunkist. Mawmaw let us drink Sunkist for breakfast. Granny would let Taylor drink it all day, but we have discovered that it has caffeine in it and if he drinks it after 3pm we are up much later than we'd like to be.

4. Imaginary friends. We usually played school with imaginary students at Mawmaw's. Taylor plays rock concert with and imaginary audience.

5. Baby Powder. Mawmaw had it in every bathroom. So does Granny. :)

I loved "little people"! That got me thinking, I have no idea where mine went!

So glad you figured out about the Sunkist - fortunately, I figured it out before I had kids (the hard way for me)!

That is so funny about the baby powder. I have pretty much never used baby powder or baby lotion on either of my kids, but my mom always has both!

My Grandmother had the "little people" also. My favorite was the school bus that held 6 "people" and they actually kind of bounced up & down as you drove it. Oh the memories....
