Reflections of '08 and Goals for '09

This past year has been one of my top emotionally charged years.  It all started when I found out I was pregnant in February.  In April more emotions flowed when Mawmaw passed away.  Some months were just a bit more lonely with Wes on more overseas trips this year than ever before.  Our wonderful neighbors moved in June which was sad for all of us.  Then Lilly came a bit early and with an unexpected heart defect in September.  The year has ended with lots of trips to see doctors and learn more about Lilly's heart as well as adjust to life with an infant and pre-schooler.  Of course Lilly was the highlight and heartache of our year.  She is doing so well now I sometimes forget she doesn't have a normal heart.  She is just so sweet and so is Taylor for the most part.  I guess all 3 year olds go through some stages of independence and attitude.  Really Taylor is very well behaved for the most part and using his manners more and more these days.

I am here now to set some of my goals for 2009.  All of you reading can then keep a check on me to make sure I reach these goals.

  1. Be a better wife and mother by praying more and reading God's word more.  Taylor does both more than I do now and that is sad.
  2. LOSE the baby fat.  Ok so now it's more the extra holiday pounds on top of the baby fat.  I really would like to lose 50 pounds and I think I can do it if I stop eating sugar and get up off the couch.  So far I've walked up to 2 miles the last 3 days in a row!
  3. Really do something to bring in a little income.  My brother and I have toyed with the idea of having a video production thing on the side.  He still works in the real world so this would be a side job for him, but just a little something I could do from home to help supplement our income.  This year I need to buckle down and promote this so that we get more business.  Look for more details in blogs to come.
  4. Get to know my neighbors better and really see how I can minister to them and how they can bless me.
  5. Go to Disney World!  So if I lose the weight and make some money I think we should celebrate with a trip to Orlando before the year ends. :)

I love your goal list. Now I am thinking I need to do one. But that would mean that I actually have to try to follow my list. Humm....

Glad to see you had good Christmas. Hope it was a Happy New Year as well!
