Getting Ready to Go

There are so many things to prepare before we leave for Malawi this summer. The first thing would be our hearts. I should be better about spending more time in prayer about what God wants us to do instead of making plans for what I think we should do there. I've spent hours looking over lessons, crafts, what the kids can do while I do this etc...I'm sure I'd have a lot less to stress over if I just gave it to God and let Him decide. I need to get better at that.

I keep trying to prepare the kids for things in Malawi. Taylor is convinced that Malawi is the place without "power". Ok so in the past electricity was very scarce there, but lately it's been much more reliable. It's not 100% but we won't be too deprived in that area. I don't think Taylor realizes though how much he'll be without the Disney Channel though. That might come as a shock to his system at least at first.

I've begun to worry about how much money we must raise to get there. We originally thought it would be $6000 but tickets and an extra leg of the trip to visit missionaries in Tanzania raised that number to $8000. We were almost done and now have that much more to go. I know God will provide and supply what we need but it's hard to let that go. I've tried thinking of all kinds of fundraisers but non would be able to supply all we need. So literally this is up to God and since he owns all the resources in the world I trust he can make it happen.
