Lately I've been part of some Bible studies that have really shown how God is in the details of everything. I'm amazed at His perfect timing when it comes to things in the whole universe.

For example check out the Star of Bethlehem site and be amazed at how God worked things out in the sky leading up to Jesus birth. It's a theory but a pretty well educated and thought out response to something we might overlook in the nativity story.

Our recent Bible study of Daniel also showed amazing accuracy in predicting the time of Jesus hundreds of years before he was born. There were dates listed that pointed to the exact day of his triumphal entrance into Jerusalem! Amazing.

My current Bible study has been on the life of Jesus. I've learned all kinds of things I never knew about his character, personality and love. I was amazed just this week with the story of him at the last supper which was the Passover Feast. Having not grown up in a Jewish family I don't know the details of the Passover but in our study we found out what symbolism was used and how Jesus was the fulfillment of those symbols.

I had never thought much about Matthew 26:30 "When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives." I guess I thought they were singing "The old rugged cross" or some kind of hymn that I would know. However there were certain psalms sung at every Passover meal. They started with Psalm 114 then ended with Psalm 118. Basically that means that as Jesus walked to the Mount of Olives to pray just before being betrayed he was singing the verse Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Can you imagine? Knowing what torture you were about to face and singing that? Jesus is amazing and so is God. I fall in love with them more each day, but especially when I see deeper into the mysteries of this faith.

"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever."
Psalm 118:29

I had also wondered what Jesus sang. It amazes me to know now.
