Lilly had a visit with her cardiologist today. It was the first time in 2 months we had been there. You could tell she was more aware of her surroundings this time. Instead of just laying there to let them get her blood pressure or echocardiogram she was wiggly and grabbing onto things. It was hard to get her BP good because of all the motion. The numbers they got were much lower than before so that's good, but not sure they were the most accurate. The nurse and doctor were not alarmed because they said it looked like it was pretty close to accurate and with all the other things they look at the big picture was good.
During the echo Taylor watches cartoons (usually meant for the patients, but whatever works) Lilly was not amused by the Backyardigans this time. She wanted the pen tool the doctor was running over her chest. She was not happy with me when I held her arms down. Lilly was practically doing a back bend as she arched her back to get up. If she wasn't so little you'd have thought she was just going to get on up and walk out of there. She fussed a little, but a little sugar water works wonders. We dip her pacifier in that so she will suck on it. I wish I had some of that at home. One night we were trying to get her to take her pacifier to calm down and since we didn't have the glucose water they have at the doctor's office we used the next best thing...the pacifier took a dip in Wes' Coke. ;) Just enough to get her to taste it and stop crying.
So now the cardiologist says we don't need to come back until June! 3 months! Yeah! He wants to keep watching things, but said everything was doing well and to just keep on until next time. Thanks to everyone who has been praying for Lilly and the rest of us. At this point I almost don't remember that she had heart surgery. I toss her around like I would have Taylor and she has been to the church nursery two times (much later than Taylor went, but oh well). I'm ready to let her cry it out at night, but some how she always ends up with me running in with a pacifier or Wes bringing her to me for milk. She is spoiled in that area and has been getting away with too much at night. Some weeks we get good sleep and others it's 2 or 3 times getting up. She actually seems to have worse sleep habits than before. That has to change soon or I will be a zombie permanently.
Next Monday Lilly turns 6 months! Maybe I'll take some pictures to post by then. :)
