If you know Taylor he has a wild imagination. He can pretend just about anything. He has lots of imaginary friends too. He talks daily to Rich, Scott, Dave and Smitty (aka The Imagination Movers) he also pretends to be playing with all of his Bible class teachers and friends.
Today he was pretending to be a mechanic who worked for someone named Doug. He was working on "Flovina's" car. I don't know where he got that name, but I almost died laughing. I asked her where she was from. He didn't quite understand me, but later he said she was from Malawi. There might be someone in Malawi with a name similar to that, but I don't know anyone personally. This was just something he came up with out of thin air.
Wish I had a hidden camera for all the things he said. I am worried that one day someone will think he has multiple personalities as much as he talks to himself. Half the time I really don't know if he's asking me something or talking to and for someone else. If you've had a child do this before what did you do?

When Mary Katherine was three, she had an imaginary cat named blackie. The only thing odd about it was that it occassionaly terrified her! No, I'm not kidding. She would be talking real sweet to it and then all of a sudden she would run to me screaming that the cat was going to jump on her. I will never forget the time we took a trip to my parents in north Goergia...she was sitting in her car seat singing a little song, when she started screaming like a banshi--"no blackie, mommy! Get it off, get it off!". Gene almost went off the road it startled him so bad. We had to pull over and put the cat out. Thankfully though, that was the end of blackie. She hates cats now.
Enjoy these days while they last. Dealing with imaginary friends is easier than dealing with their teenage friends!
