6 months and Copycat

Lilly is officially 6 months old now.  It has also officially been 6 months since her heart surgery.  She was only 1 week old then.  Everything looks good with her.  She's still on the small side 5 percentile in weight and about 20 percentile on height, but she is gaining about a pound a month which is a good average.  She was 12 lbs 14 oz and 24.5 inches long.  Lilly is sitting up pretty good on her own too.

She hasn't gotten in the crawling stance yet and just this week she discovered her hands.  She will just stare at them like they are a piece of artwork.  She turns them over and looks at all sides.  It's really cute.  They are pretty hands with long "piano" fingers.  I'm waiting on her to find her feet, but she doesn't notice them at all.

Lilly is now able to go 3 months without seeing any doctors!  Hopefully she won't get any kind of colds or sickness in between.  We go in June to the cardiologist and for her 9 month checkup.

Yesterday we went to the pediatrician and eye doctor.  Taylor decided today the he was going to pretend to be both doctors.  He had me sit down and look at his "light" and follow it with my eyes but not move my head.  (almost verbatim what the nurse told us to do yesterday)  He even set up an office in his room today with a lap desk and computer.  He gets into his office by using his "wallet key".  For those that don't understand that...Wes gets into his office with an electronic card.  He keeps it in his wallet and just has to pass the wallet over the scanner.  Taylor was mimicking that to get in his "office".

So be careful what you do around Taylor these days.  He is liable to copy it down to the tiniest detail.  Last night he repeated something I often say to him like "don't you do that!"  Wes and I had to control our laughter.

These are  pictures from St. Patrick's day.  I didn't plan to but they both ended up wearing green shirts and blue shorts.  We sat by the pool, but as you can see the sun was not in the best place so I didn't really get any good pictures with open eyes.

Last thing...I heard about this couple from some friends of mine and I wanted to share their blog with you.  I don't know them personally, but their story touched me.  They are from Montgomery and the wife 24 weeks pregnant had to go to D.C. for work.  While there her water broke and she is now in the hospital in D.C.  They say she will be there until the baby is born (they are hoping he doesn't come before 28 weeks, but probably will) Then they will have to stay in D.C. until the baby is released and that could be months.  Read more about them and please pray for them.

Ok, so I totally noticed the copycat thing on Sunday. He wanted to sing Wise Man and he led the song and did it exactly like I always do. Then later I said something and about 5 minutes later I heard him say the same thing to someone else!
