Today we took Lilly to see our local pediatric cardiologist. This is who she will see from now on so we don't have to make trips to UAB. This is also the doctor who discovered her coarctation. He is very nice and seems to be very knowledgeable.
So today Lilly weighs in at 7 lbs and 13 oz. Just one ounce less than at birth. She lost a bit more than normal in all her time in the hospital. She also grew nearly 2 inches since birth. The only bad thing about the visit was her blood pressure is a bit off.
The coarctation originally made it harder for blood to flow to the lower half of her body. Now that it's fixed (with lots of healing and close watching to follow) her blood pressure is good in the lower half, but too high in the upper part of her body. So now she is on blood pressure medicine. Hopefully as she grows this will all work itself out and she won't have to be on medicine the rest of her life. That is my prayer.
I wanted to post some pictures from the weekend, but left the camera in my parents car. Hopefully I'll get that back soon so you can see some fun shots of Lilly and some of her cousins.
