Lord of The Dance

Wes and I went to see Lord of The Dance last night at the Montgomery Performing Arts Center.  It's so nice to have these big shows come to town now.  This was Wes' birthday/ Valentine's day gift from me.  I told him in January on his birthday we'd get to see it in April. :)

We really loved it.  I wish I could dance like that!  Now that's a way to lose some weight!  I think I lost 5 pounds just watching all those moves.

I got to thinking about how much I love other cultures.  I loved the Irish music in Lord of The Dance and yet I love African things and French ones and Chinese etc...it reminded me of something I read in the HEAVEN book by Randy Alcorn.  Since all nations, tribes and tongues will be represented in Heaven then so will the best parts of their cultures.  I found this statement on Randy's blog...

"In our lives on Earth, we should see God every where in his creation: in the food we eat, the friendships we enjoy, and the pleasures of family, work, and hobbies. But we should never let these secondary pleasures eclipse our love for God. We should thank him for all of life’s joys, large and small, and allow them to draw us closer to Him."

So I'd like to thank God for the great music, dancing and food from all of our cultures that bring us joy and laughter.

By the way some of Lord of the Dance reminded me of my own Southern Alabama culture.  The dancing was a lot like clogging, the girls had big hair and they sure did know how to play a "fiddle" (violin in the show. :)
