Saturday Update

Today was very good for Lilly. Her jaundice was pretty much gone therefore she was able to get out from under all the special lights. That also meant we were able to hold her again! Wes and I held her for about 3 hours this afternoon and she had lots of visitors.

She is so healthy compared to all the other babies in the RNICU. She is actually gaining weight! She dropped from her birth weight, but has gained since she got to Birmingham. She was "smiling" today and just like a normal baby except for the IV's and monitors on her.

I am so glad she doesn't have problems with oxygen or have to have a breathing tube. Her only problem is the coarctation. I realized more things that God was involved in today as well. One being my fall and subsequent early labor put us in a different hospital to deliver than we had planned. However that hospital was just where we needed to be for Lilly to get the right kind of care as early as she got it.

I just know that this will soon pass and Lilly will do great things to glorify God. I hope that in all this I can also glorify Him more. We are hoping that surgery will be Tuesday, but have not got the confirmation on it yet. Pray that this will be the day so that all will be done as soon as possible and we can return home.

We are praying for the surgery and all of you as well. If you run into some people from Elba while you're there, don't be surprised! It's such a small world! A friend of ours had her little girl really premature and they have been there a few months in the RNICU. Their names are Todd and Leah. The little girl is Laurie Anne. We are praying for all of you in the RNICU! Can't wait to hear when you're heading home! Hugs and kisses...

I'm so glad you guys got to hold Lilly yesterday, I can't imagine how frustrating that must have been. I'm praying for a swift surgery date and recovery for your gal. :)
