Anniversary

Wes and I went out of town for our anniversary this past weekend.  Our anniversary is actually next weekend, but we celebrated early because Wes will be on a mission trip to Guatemala.  We went to Atlanta which isn't very exotic, but since I'm 7 months pregnant I wasn't sure what my limits would be.  We had a great time visiting the new World of Coke and the Georgia Aquarium.  We also visited the CNN Studio Tour.  However we don't recommend wasting your money on this one unless you've never seen it before and just really want to.  Wes and I saw this tour sometime in our middle/high school days and thought surely by now it's been modified with the times.  Well it wasn't.  It was exactly the same as it was in the 1990's.

The GA Aquarium was pretty awesome.  I was just amazed at some of the fish and kept thinking how creative is our God to come up with so many different kinds of fish.  There were thousands on display of course all the way up to the biggest fish in the sea...a whale shark.  Taylor and I have learned all about these watching Go Diego, Go!  :)

The only downside to the Aquarium was the amount of people there.  We bought our tickets in advance and just had to show up a certain time.  But there was a long line to get in all day.  Once inside it was hard to see some things as there were people just everywhere.  We were there from 10:30am to about 2pm on a Saturday.  I would advise either going very early or during a weekday.

Here I am standing by my favorite fish...Lake Malawi cichlids.  One of these little fellows makes a GREAT meal!  It's called chombo in Malawi.

We are terrible picture takers.  We didn't get one picture of us together on this trip and it was our Anniversary. :)  Oh well you are actually seeing about all the pictures we even took.

Next year it's Wes' turn to surprise me with a trip.  He always does a better job.  I guess I've done ok with trips, but I'm so frugal it's hard to plan on spending money. :)  So I've mostly stayed around with in driving distance.  Wes however took us to Russia last year and that was pretty awesome.  Really that trip we didn't spend any more money because we stayed with friends and used frequent flyer miles to get there.  Well can't wait to see what the next year holds.

Memories of August weddings in HOT Alabama flood my mind...ugh...I think I'm having a hot flash!

Happy Anniversary! You know that I have but one word to say - Disney. Since you went to Russia last year, however, I could see how this would be less exciting to you than to me!
