I love little kid birthday parties. They are just so into the simple things like cake, party blowers and balloons. They even have the most fun with just 1 new toy! They want to stop and play with it right then not realizing there are usually more things to open.
I was hoping to have a "simple" party this year. Just a few friends and lunch by the pool. Unfortunately by the time all the grandparents have been invited you've missed out on simple here. Taylor is blessed to have lots of grandparents and 2 sets of great grandparents. Then you can't just have a bunch of 3 year olds over with out at least one parent and I can't not invite all the siblings. We usually play with all of them at church anyway. So simple turned into about 40 people today! It was fun but slightly overwhelming at times. I just want to spend more time with everyone than I get to do when hosting that many.
Next year I think we'll take some kids to McDonald's for an hour and be done with it. :) I don't know what happened to birthday parties anyway. When I was little McDonald's was the place to party or like I did one year...a trip to the Galleria! Wow! It was new then and my mom and grandmother took me and about six 4th grade girls there. We could go to the stores we wanted to (Christy's Pals anyone?) and then had cake in the food court. Now that was a fun party.
Well Taylor had fun today and is now napping. I'm just avoiding the clean up. :) Won't this all be fun when I have more than 1 party to throw a year!

Happy Birthday, Taylor!
You know, I have said that I hope Will never knows what a birthday party is - Andrew's have always been so elaborate and so exhausting! I have since decided that even simple can be exhausting!
